What is Anthropology?
Anthropology Defined
Anthropology is a social science that explores the diversity of the human experience. The term anthropology originates from the Greek: anthropos meaning human, and logia which means “the study of.” Thus, anthropology is the study of human beings. Anthropologists investigate what it means to be human through time and around the world. Anthropologists study humans from our biological origins to the present and the diversity of cultural expression across the globe. Anthropology is different from other social sciences in that anthropologists study human behavior from a holistic perspective in that they consider all aspects of being human, from biology to culture.
